Jacob’s “Living Alone” Story

Jacob didn’t like to think about moving out on his own. He didn’t like to be alone. Often, when it seemed too quiet, he wandered around the house to find his parents and make some kind of connection with them, although he now tried to hold off on hanging on them like he used to. He wanted to be reminded that they were there and that he wasn’t alone. When they went out in the evening without him, he was uncomfortable, although he put on a brave face. He found himself getting spooked if he walked by a dark window, so he tended to stick to his room, pull down the blinds, and play video games until they got home. He knew that he would probably always want someone else living with him. Not a roommate, but housemates would be great. That way he could shift from social time in the living room to quiet time in his own room. Living alone was fine for some people, but it was not in Jacob’s comfort zone/

And there was nothing wrong with that.
